Working as part of the well-established HR & Payroll team and reporting to the Recruitment Manager, the HR Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting Cheltenham College's recruitment and vetting-compliance processes. This is a busy role in a friendly and supportive team where you will get to know every new member of staff and play a vital part in ensuring they have a positive experience as they prepare to join the College community.
Although there is much variety in the role, on a daily basis you will be responsible for: posting adverts for new roles, liaising with Line Managers to arrange interview days, carrying out pre-employment/vetting checks and also taking the lead on overseeing non-management level recruitment.
Due to the people-focused nature of the job it is essential that you have well-honed communication skills and enjoy meeting new people from all walks of life. A high level of attention to detail is essential and in order to thrive in this role, you will have excellent organisational skills, be methodical, and able to remain calm and focused during busier periods.
Experience of working to processes in a high-compliance environment is desirable but not essential as full training and support will be given.
Within this role is the opportunity for the right candidate to progress and take on more responsibility as outlined in the job description.
