About the Role
Hartpury University is looking for an experienced and dynamic Crop Science academic to contribute towards our overall Agriculture research activity and lead the development of a portfolio of research relating to crop production.
- This role is ideally suited for an experienced University lecturer looking to expand their portfolio of research.
- Become a key member of the team as we continue to expand our curriculum and will contribute towards taught sessions related to crop science.
- Bring your experience and expertise in undertaking crop science research and continue to develop this through applications for external research funding and dissemination of findings.
- Contribute to RKE activities and income generation to support institutional output and impact plans and ensure the development of a research-informed curriculum.
- You will grasp the opportunity to foster cross-disciplinary collaborations and ambitions that will build on current strengths within the department, and across the institution.
About You
- You will possess a PhD in a relevant subject area and demonstrate specialist knowledge and/or experience within the discipline of crop science.
- You will have a sustained record of obtaining external research funding and publishing research findings.
- You will have professional recognition such as FHEA/SFHEA or equivalent or a commitment to achieve the relevant status within one year of employment.
- As an active researcher you will have experience of conducting applied research projects that lead to impactful outputs. A record of active scholarship and knowledge exchange is essential.
- You will be committed to creating a high-quality student experience, evidenced through a focus on excellence within teaching and learning.
- You will also have a clear appreciation of the connectivity between theory and practice and the ability to foster industry partnerships to develop industry opportunities for our students.
- You will be able to work independently but also have experience of leading others through successful work-stream projects.
