At Cam Woodfield Infant School we aim to develop happy, healthy, independent learners who work towards a better future for themselves and for the world in which they live. We have a vacancy for an SEN Teaching Assistant (Grade 3- 5 depending on qualifications and experience working within EYFS & KS1) to work with children on the graduated pathway of support including children with an EHCP.

The candidate would need the ability to form a safe, secure and supportive relationship with children with additional needs, whilst showing patience and consistency. They will support learning, play and child development.

Candidates should:
• Be able to work independently to help prepare learning resources and materials for lessons that enable children to access the curriculum.
• Be able to deliver high quality support using the details of the EHCP to ensure best outcomes.
• Be a good team player and be able to work with and under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCo.
• Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant Qualification (or equivalent).
• Show good written and verbal communication skills.
• Be able to liaise with the parents / carers.
• Be committed to high standards of inclusion and be able to demonstrate a balanced approach to difficulties using both nurture and structure.
• Be positive and be willing to go the extra mile for the children in their care.

Part time hours and job shares considered.
In the first instance this post is temporary as it is linked to specific funding.
