Salary Range: £31,339 - £46,059
(Dependent on qualifications and experience)
Contract: Full Time (1.0), Permanent
Required From: 1st September 2025
Would you relish the opportunity to teach students the subjects of Criminology, Psychology, and or Sociology within a college setting?
Due to significant growth in one of the most populate courses here at Cirencester College, we have a fantastic opportunity available to teach across our psychology, Sociology, and/or criminology courses. Not only can we offer the chance to teach successful and ambitious students, but we can do so in the beautiful Cotswold setting of Cirencester. The department itself is a vibrant, supportive and forward-thinking team; the teaching staff work together closely and have a genuine passion for the subject. We are seeking adaptable and creative individuals to join our high achieving team and contribute to curriculum initiatives. You would teach surrounded by a large and supportive team who will readily share resources and best practices, and offer support whenever required. Within this environment we would help you further develop as a practitioner, as you in turn develop your students. Would you relish the chance to teach on and contribute toward the delivery of some of the largest courses here at Cirencester College?
Candidates should have a commitment to further education and be motivated to achieve high standards in teaching and learning. The ability to work well within teams and to adapt to curriculum demands is essential. Ideally candidates should possess a good honours degree and a teaching qualification.
Here at Cirencester, we teach the OCR Psychology A Level specification, EDUQAS Sociology AL specification, and WJEC criminology specification. If you have experience teaching these (or similar) specifications or even experience of teaching other levels and specifications (e.g., at level 4 or 5) do not hesitate to apply.
The post holder will be expected to:
Teach to a high standard, and develop the relevant skills to teach truly outstanding provision
Candidates should have a commitment to providing high quality learning to enable all learners to achieve their full potential. The ability to truly work as a team player is also essential. The post holder will be expected to demonstrate outstanding organisational and interpersonal skills.
Candidates should possess either proven experience in industry or a good honours degree in a related subject (or a combination of both). Ideally you will hold a teaching qualification, or be committed to obtaining a level 5 teaching qualification when in post.
