Teacher of Religious Studies

Teacher of Religious Studies

Cheltenham

Start date: 1st March 2026
Responsible to: Head of Department

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Cheltenham Bournside School as a Teacher of Religious Studies. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of Religious Studies to join our lively RS department.

The Religious Studies Department at Bournside consists of Head of RS and a team of 3 specialist teachers. The successful candidate will be a key part of the team and will contribute to the strengths of the department. They will teach highly motivated and talented pupils from Year 7 to 13 (KS3 Religious Studies, KS4 Religion and World Views, KS5 A-Level Religious Studies) planning and preparing courses and lessons according to their educational needs and providing guidance and advise on their further education and future careers. Religious Studies is very popular subject at Cheltenham Bournside School, with classes in both GSCE and A Level.

We believe in learning outside of the classrooms with trips to Bristol, London and as well as more locally in Cheltenham. All teachers will take part and contribute to these trips and we welcome new ideas for developing our current fieldwork offer.
