Located in Tewkesbury, this Outstanding special school supports students aged 7-19 with moderate and additional learning difficulties, complex needs, and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). The school has been rated Outstanding by Ofsted in its last four inspections and is known for its nurturing, inclusive ethos. The purpose-built campus includes specialist classrooms, a sensory room, a life-skills flat, and outdoor learning spaces, all designed to support a broad and engaging curriculum. Staff work collaboratively to ensure every pupil receives a tailored education that prepares them for life beyond school.
Your new role
You will be responsible for delivering ASDAN Employability up to Level 2 and a wide range of Preparation for Adulthood and Work-Related Learning lessons across Key Stages 4 and 5. This includes supporting students in developing practical life skills, workplace readiness, and personal independence. You'll work closely with teaching assistants and therapists to adapt lessons to individual needs, using real-world scenarios and community-based learning to enhance engagement. This is a full-time role with full teaching responsibilities, including planning, assessment, and participation in school events.
What you'll need to succeed
- QTS and UK teaching experience
- Experience or interest in SEN and ASD
- Ability to deliver practical, life-skills-based learning
- Strong classroom management and adaptability
