ShareAs a Sports Assistant you will play a vital role within our Sports Training Village, carrying out the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the sports facilities and associated areas, so that we can provide activities, services and facilities for students, university staff, the local community and high-performance athletes.
This is a great position to learn and develop basic skills within a sporting environment where you will get to work alongside high performance athletes, many of whom compete in the Summer and Winter Olympics.
A typical day
- Setting up indoor and outdoor activities
- Setting up events
- Lifeguarding
- Assisting with general enquiries from customers
- Responding to adhoc requests for support.
You will also be involved in ensuring cleanliness, health & safety and emergency procedures for which full training is provided.
About you
You will need good interpersonal skills, the ability to work as part of a team and enjoy working varied hours as you will be required to work early mornings, evenings and weekends.
Part of this role involves lifeguarding duties and therefore you will need to have a lifeguarding (NPLQ) qualification. You can apply by completing a short course with the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK) - find out more here: https://rlssuk.tahdah.me/event
