Play Leader / Sports Assistant

Woodmancote School is a successful, friendly and inclusive primary school. Our school is based on the outskirts of Cheltenham in the thriving community of Woodmancote and Bishops Cleeve.

Due to the possible expansion of our wraparound care provision we have an exciting new role for an enthusiastic and motivated member of staff who is confident to lead teams and bring about change.

The role includes that of Playleader at our Before and After School Club, Playleader for our Midday Supervisor Team, and Sports Assistant, supporting the effective teaching of PE or Outdoor Learning across the school.

As this hybrid role is new to the school it is an opportunity for someone to develop the role for themselves in several areas of the school community. It may suit somebody who is thinking of pursuing a career in teaching, or has completed sports coaching training, or has previously led childcare provision and is looking for a new challenge.

We are looking for a candidate with:

Grade: Grade 5 (pts 11-14) £27,269 - £28,624 pa pro rata

Hours: 36.25 per week (term time only) Monday–Friday 7.30–9am and 12-6pm daily

Closing Date: Midday Friday 30th May 2025

Interview Date: 3 June 2025

Start Date: September 2025
