Teaching Partner - TP1

Bridge Training Ltd is looking for Teaching Partners to join our supportive, student-focused team. This is your chance to contribute to a small, dedicated alternative education provider that truly changes the lives of young people aged 14–19.
As a Teaching Partner, you’ll work closely with the teaching staff to:
- Support young people in the classroom and during activities
- Provide 1:1 or small group support for learners with SEND, SEMH, or additional needs
- Help students develop confidence, independence, and resilience
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Adapt resources and communication to suit individual learning styles
- Promote a calm, nurturing, and inclusive environment
- You’ll be a vital part of helping our students succeed—not just academically, but socially and personally too.
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Compassionate and committed to helping vulnerable learners
- Resilient, with a calm and adaptable approach to challenges
- A strong communicator, able to build trust with students and staff
- A team player who works well in a flexible, fast-paced setting
- Experience working with young people or in an education or care setting is desirable—but not essential. What matters most is your mindset and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities
Supporting Classroom Teaching
- Work under the guidance of the class teacher to support teaching and learning activities.
- Assist with lesson preparation
- Help deliver small group interventions or individual support sessions.
- Supervise students during teacher-led instruction to ensure engagement.
- Assist with SEN students following EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plans).
- To promote acceptance and inclusion, encouraging students to interact with each other in an appropriate and acceptable manner
- Ensure timely communication regarding matters such as attendance, safeguarding concerns, or individual support needs.
Monitor and Support Attendance
- Support the promotion of regular attendance and punctuality by monitoring student attendance records and identifying patterns of concern.
- Liaise with parents/carers, teaching staff, and external agencies to address attendance issues in a timely and supportive manner.
- Encourage positive attendance habits through regular communication with students and by reinforcing the importance of attendance as part of overall progress and wellbeing.
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with Bridge Training policies.
Extracurricular Involvement
- Accompany and supervise students during Bridge Training external visits, off-site learning, and enrichment activities to ensure safety, engagement, and adherence to safeguarding procedures
Individual Student Support
- Provide targeted help to Students with specific needs
- Adapt tasks to suit individual learning styles and abilities.
- Record student progress on Pro Monitor and provide feedback to the teacher and actively encourage students to work towards their individual targets
- Foster inclusion by supporting students emotional and social development
- To assist in the induction process
Behaviour and Safety
- Promote positive behaviour and reinforce Bridge Training rules.
- Help manage incidents of disruptive behaviour calmly and consistently, working closely with the behaviour Lead.
- Support Safeguarding and Behaviour policies and procedures.
Administrative and Organisational Tasks
- Assist teaching staff in the preparation of marking and assessment materials, including photocopying, formatting, and organising resources.
- Keep learning areas tidy and organised.
- Maintain student records (eg Pen Profiles) and classroom displays.
- Help manage classroom materials and equipment.
- Support the Head of Curriculum and SEND and SEMH Manager in driving the Additional Learning Support policy, along with the referrals procedure to ensure a consistent and fair approach across Bridge Training
- Use application and pre-enrolment information to effectively support learners (including one-page profiles, Education, Health and Care Plans and My Plan / My Plan+)
Liaison and Communication
- Contribute to meetings about student progress or welfare when required.
- Be aware of, work within and respond to national changes in policy, guidelines, regulations and legislation relating to SEND (Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice), reasonable adjustments (Equality Act 2010) and exam board requirements (JCQ).

Salary: £19,987.50 (actual - depending on experience)
Hours Per Week: 37.5 - Term-time only
