Job summary
We are very excited to be looking to recruit a Band 5 Physiotherapist to join our Children and Young People's Physiotherapy team here in Gloucestershire. We can offer you the opportunity to start your paediatric physiotherapy career within our supportive, experienced and friendly physiotherapy team.
The service provides Physiotherapy across the county for children and young people from birth - 19 years, presenting with a range of needs including neurological, developmental and musculoskeletal conditions. We work in partnership with children, young people, their families and carers in a variety of settings including special and mainstream schools, patient's homes and community clinics. The service also provides cover to the paediatric inpatient unit at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.The caseload of the post holder and travel required will be based on service need, and will provide opportunities to develop clinical skills with a wide range of childhood conditions in a variety of settings. We are committed to supporting CPD, and you will be supported with regular clinical supervision.

Main duties of the job
A Band 5 Physiotherapist participates as a member of the Children and Young People's Physiotherapy Team managing a clinical caseload within the acute and/ or community setting. Support and supervision will be provided by senior staff via various methods e.g. face to face contact, email, telephone etc. The post holder may provide supervision for physiotherapy technicians/assistants on a day to day basis.
The post holder will consolidate their undergraduate clinical experience, develop their independent clinical practice and participate in continuing professional development.
This is a countywide service for children aged 0-18 years (19 years in full time education). The service is provided in a range of settings including clinics, special and mainstream schools, special and mainstream nurseries, opportunity groups, playgroups and in the child's own home. Inpatients are also seen the Children's Centre (GRH).
All qualified physiotherapy staff will be asked to provide cover for annual leave, sickness absence etc in both the acute or community setting.
This post is community based and the post holder will carry his/her own caseload and at times will be expected to work independently in locations away from base.
