DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Gloucester Civic Trust was set up in 1972 as a charitable company limited by guarantee to protect and rescue heritage assets in the city. Its mission is to educate, excite & explore the identities of the city and its people through objects, exhibitions, displays, programming and events. We operate a wide-ranging programme of City tours, St Michael’s Tower heritage centre, contribute to the work of many important groups and committees serving the City and in recent years have taken over the former Gloucester Life Museum, renamed the Folk of Gloucester.

Unusually, we have vacancies on our Board of Trustee/Directors and are seeking individuals who can contribute to the strategic direction and oversight of our diverse and expanding organisation, while ensuring legal compliance.

We are looking for people who have the relevant skills, and the commitment to make a difference. You will be joining a focused team that will contribute to the delivery of our Strategic Plan which presents both new challenges and huge opportunities. A key role for the Board, working particularly with regard to the Folk of Gloucester with the Senior Leadership Team, is to determine the priorities in these circumstances and to help guide legal, financial, HR and Project Management needs as we develop major funding bids.

We work in a challenging environment where the landscape is continually changing. This requires us to consider carefully how to protect and develop our income streams and create greater efficiency without compromising on quality, while continuing our commitment to the community, education and maintaining our buildings for future generations.

We are keen to attract applicants who share our values and ethos and are committed to making a difference. We are targeting people with experience or skills in the following areas:

Please consider this opportunity carefully. If you have the motivation, vision, commitment, and enthusiasm to join us in this exciting and challenging role - apply today!
