Junior Windows Infrastructure Technician - GSL-NC-2401

About Us:
Join our dynamic IT team and contribute to the growth of a fast-paced, innovative company. We’re seeking a motivated Junior Windows Infrastructure Technician to support and maintain our Windows environments across both cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
Role Overview:
As a Junior Windows Infrastructure Technician, you will be responsible for the effective operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our Windows infrastructure. You’ll assist with system updates, patching, and daily maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance, security, and uptime.
Key Responsibilities:
Windows Updates & Patching: Assist in deploying and managing Windows updates across cloud and on-premises systems to maintain system security and performance.
System Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks on Windows servers and workstations, including backups, security checks, and performance monitoring.
Infrastructure Support: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows environments, ensuring system availability and reliability for both cloud-based and on-premises infrastructures.
Cloud Infrastructure: Assist in managing and maintaining cloud-based Windows environments in Microsoft Azure alongside on-prem solutions.
Security Compliance: Ensure all systems are up to date with security patches and aligned with company compliance policies.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of updates, patches, maintenance schedules, and incident resolution.
Collaboration: Work closely with senior technicians and other IT staff to support larger projects and initiatives.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Familiarity with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Windows Desktop operating systems.
- Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS) and on-premises environments.
- Knowledge of Windows updates, patching, and system maintenance processes.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with an ability to work under pressure.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals and basic IT security concepts.
- Enthusiasm for learning and developing within IT infrastructure roles.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
- CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Fundamentals, or similar certifications.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting for automating tasks.
- Exposure to virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, VMware).
